Answers to some frequently asked questions:

Q: Is there a minimum age?
A: Not anymore. Regardless of your age, you are expected to act like an adult and be responsible. Any poor behavior will result in immediate expulsion (you'll be kicked out) possibly forever.

Q: Do you have a gaming PC I can use?
A: No, we are currently a bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) party. Remember, you must be completely patched and have updated AV to join our LAN. All software must have legitimate licenses. In some cases, there will be a sponsor's computer to test drive, but these are for demonstration only and cannot be used by one person the entire LAN party.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Your PC, monitor (19" max CRT or 22" LCD please), a power strip, and your own munchies & drinks. Bring CAT-5 patch cables if you have them. We may have some extras.

Q: Can I drink alcohol?
A: Only at our private/invitation 21+ LAN parties will drinking booze will be allowed. Drink responsibly. If you get out of hand, you will be kicked out (but not without a ride home). Public LAN parties are alcohol free.

Q: Can I just show up?
A: For public LAN parties, yes you can. We would prefer you preregister using the link provided. There will likely be an additional fee at the door to cover costs.

Q: How much is the entry fee?
A: In the private LAN parties the cost will be $0.00. As in nada. Nil. Nothing. /dev/null, 0x00. It be free yo! We may have special events that require an entry fee, which will include public parties. If we have to rent a space, there may be a small fee to cover the cost. Typical entry fees are between $10 and $15 per gamer.

Q: How many gamers can you support?
A: Seventy (70) today. As we grow, or special events dictate, we will add more capacity. It is as simple as buying another enterprise-class switch on eBay.

Q: What are your network speeds?
A: Today, we are 10/100Mb/s Ethernet. We have plans for Gigabit support in the future. Since most games are coded for Internet speeds, bandwidth shouldn't be an issue. We have professional network engineers on staff.

Q: How long does the party last.
A: Anywhere from three to twelve hours. All-nighters are possible, and you will get plenty of advanced notice when they are. Essentially, we go home when we are done playing.

Q: Who the heck are you guys?
A: Mainly local IT professionals with understanding spouses. We are systems engineers, security specialists, very talented programmers, and the like. Our public LAN parties offer quite a bit of diversity.
